Leslie Sakai, President / CEO
As Principal/Co-Founder, Leslie has served as President/CEO of ISI since 1995 and oversees all management personnel and financial operations. As President and CEO, she stays actively involved in day-to-day operations. She served as President on the Board for Asian American Architects and Engineers (AAAE). She is also a member of the Caltrans District 4 Small Business Council. Of the business, Leslie says:“ISI is successful because of the camaraderie, teamwork and commitment to one another among our core/management staff. The sense of responsibility and dedication of each individual team member is what gives the client what they need to achieve a successful result at the end of a job. We are a team which optimizes each individual’s talent in order to facilitate delivering good service to our clients.”
Ed King, Principal / Executive Vice President
Ed brings over 35 years of testing and inspection experience to his role as Principal / Executive Vice President, overseeing construction projects and technical personnel for ISI. He is ICBO-certified for Structural Steel Welding, Reinforced Concrete, Plumbing, and Mechanical. Ed’s other certifications include ASNT, AWS/CWI, OSHPD, and DSA/ORS. Ed managed ISI’s inspection activities at the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge Replacement of the superstructure, SFIA’s International Terminal and the SFIA BART/ART station. Combined, these projects exceed $2 billion in construction costs. His article describing the Automated Ultrasonic Testing system employed at the SFIA International Terminal was published by American Welding Society’s Inspection Trends magazine.
