ISI’s own resident expert, Heydar Alakbarov, CWI, wrote an article called “Ultrasonic Testing Inspection of Welds in Accordance with Code AWS D1.1: Part One.” The article, the first in a two part series, was published in the October issue of “The NDT Technician,” a trade publication for the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).
Heydar contends that, although the code provides instruction on how UT inspections should be performed, there are some important aspects that require a more detailed understanding. His article provides a better understanding of these aspects.
