ISI’s scope of services was completed in November, 2000.
Lowell High School, San Francisco Unified School District
This school project is the modernization of existing structures and the addition of a new academic building both under the same DSA application number. The new building is structural steel framed with fabrication taking place at 3 different shops. Building materials include reinforced concrete, structural steel, high strength bolting, expansion anchors and grouted bolts/dowels. There were also some shotcreted infills on existing structures. Safety was a major issue since work was occurring while students were in attendance.

Cragmont Elementary School, Berkeley USD
Drilled piers anchor this four-level new structure as it sits astride a precipitous Berkeley hilltop. In addition to the internal and external tubular steel bracing that fortifies its steel frame, metal deck infills with end welded shear studs form its composite elevated slabs. As a public school, the structure falls under the strict specifications of CCR Title 24. ISI's DSA/ORS certified inspectors ensured fulfillment of both these specifications and the rigorous seismic provisions set forth by the structural engineer.
